This cultured attraction is inspired by real German Christmas markets, and has been a part of the holidays in Chicago since 1996, according to the Christkindlmarket website.

The festival features a variety of authentic German vendors. Guests can browse through clothing, Christmas ornaments and decorations, beer steins and more during their visit, the website states. And no trip to Christkindlmarket is complete without real German food! Try real German chocolate, sausage, marzipan, bratwurst and more for a little taste of Germany during your visit to Chicago. The holidays will be here before you know it, so if you’re in Chicago this holiday season, be sure to stop by Macy’s on State St. This massive Macy’s is the second largest department store in the world, and it is also a National Historic Landmark, according to Macy’s tourism department.

Sure, Macy’s is a great place to shop, but you’ll want to visit this store for its spectacular Holiday Window display. This display has been a tradition for 46 years, dating back to when the store was Marshall Field’s, the store name until Macy’s bought them out in 2006, Macy’s Chicago says. Continue reading
