The city of Chicago has some of the most remarkable architecture you’ll ever see, and the best of it can be found at Millennium Park.

Located on Randolph St., Millennium Park is an outdoor sanctuary for music, entertainment and exceptional architecture that make this award-winning park one-of-a-kind.

The center of this stunning park is home to Pritzker Pavilion, an astounding 4,000 seat outdoor concert venue with lawn seating that accommodates up to 7,000 people. The Pavilion hosts many different events, including the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and The Art of Runway Fashion. Ellen Degeneres has even hosted her talk show from here!

If you’re looking for a place to cool down on a hot summer day, splash around at the Crown Fountain. According to the city of Chicago, this unique fountain was designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa. The fountain consists of two 50-foot glass block towers at each end of a shallow reflecting pool. This fountain is unlike any other because of video images projected onto the towers, the most popular being the face of a man that “spits” water out through a small outlet in the tower.

Arguably, the most popular part of Millennium Park is Cloud Gate, also referred to as “the Bean.” The city of Chicago describes the 110-ton elliptical sculpture as “a seamless series of highly polished stainless steel plates, which reflect Chicago’s famous skyline and the clouds above.” Visitors flock to the Bean to stand beneath the 12-foot-high arch, or gate, to view the beauty of the mirrored surface that reflects their image and the city background. This is a great spot for picture taking, as this is not your typical “mirror shot” photo you see on Facebook!

If you’re eager to see the best sights in Chicago, Millennium Park is a spot you definitely don’t want to miss. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day in the park, taking the kids to play in the fountain, or taking pictures around the Bean, Millennium Park is one of Chicago’s finest tourist spots.
