If you can’t get enough of Chicago’s gorgeous skyline, take a trip up the John Hancock Building for another sight-seeing experience.
Although it isn’t quite as tall as the Willis Tower, the Hancock building will not dissapoint, and is a “must-see” during your trip to Chicago. This building is home to multiple businesses, a handful of retail stores and the popular tourist observatory on the top floor, according the their official website.
In the mood for something to eat during your time in the Hancock building? Take a break from shopping and sightseeing, and try eating at one of the building’s five eateries, including Jamba Juice and the Cheesecake Factory.
While there is a lot to do inside, the main attraction of the Hancock building is the top floor observatory. Take a journey 1,000 feet in the air to the top level of the building, and enjoy the view of the Chicago skyline and the chaos of the city below you. In fact, the Hancock building is such a popular attraction to visit that it has won several awards for its astonishing views, the observatory website states.
The trip to the top of the Hancock building is always an exhilarating experience. Krista Peake of Mountain Home, Id. struggled to find the right words to describe her visit to the top of this incredible building.
“Looking out across the entire city is always such a humbling experience,” Peak said. “It’s a place to escape the huge buildings, hustle of the city and just quietly reflect on what a masterpiece your surrounded by.”
Peake received the surprise of her life when she visited the Hancock building in 2011: her husband proposed to her on the top floor.
“[It was] absolutely perfect to have the best moment of my life happen with the best view of Chicago in the background,” Peake explained.
Whether you’re interested in a view of the city or having a romantic night with your soon-to-be-finance, there is plenty of things to see and do during your time in the Hancock building to ensure that your visit is memorable.
